Mercedes S-class coupé revealed
The flagship of the Mercedes range, the new S-class coupé, has been revealed in concept form ahead of its Frankfurt motor show debut.
Joining the new Mercedes-Benz GLA at this week’s Frankfurt motor show is a coupé version of the S-class luxury saloon.
Although a concept at present, the S-class coupé is said by Mercedes-Benz to “provide a concrete vision of the next model generation”.
The concept car measures five metres in length and 1.95 metres in width and combines expected Mercedes styling cues, such as the E-class-esque grille, with a tapered rear end that is more distinctive than any of its current production models.
There’s a long bonnet and strong creases running along the side of the car to emphasise its rear-wheel-drive proportions, and the concept sits on 21in, five-spoke alloy wheels.
